Why I created Morro & Co...
a story of hope
It all began with my personal story of grief, loss and, ultimately, hope.
On June 17th 2008, I received the news that my mum had taken her own life. She was the second daughter my nanna lost to mental health and heartbreakingly, not the last.
Fast-forward to 2020, and I had lost my mum and two aunties to suicide. I was walking through a long and painful infertility journey, and I found myself wondering what life was supposed to look like from here. Lost. Unanchored. Exhausted in every way.
I’ve always loved candles, the way a fragrance can shift the atmosphere of a room, soften a moment, or spark a sense of peace. It makes sense, really… my name actually means light.
In late 2020, I began learning how to make them. What started as a creative outlet became a source of healing. Each candle helped me express what words couldn’t, reconnect with my creativity, and rebuild a sense of purpose.
That’s how Morro & Co was born.
And it’s why you’ll never experience a candle quite like ours. There is something deeply personal woven into each one - a quiet reminder of hope, strength and resilience.
Our candles and diffusers are more than just fragrance.
They are a gift to live a moment to breathe, a reminder that every tunnel has a light at the end. A way to encourage women to keep going, keep hoping, and keep choosing beauty even in the middle of the hard days.

Morro & Co exists for one purpose; to infuse light and hope into as many lives as we can.
This mission is deeply personal to Claire, our founder and CEO. Her journey has been marked by profound loss, after saying goodbye to her mother and two aunties to suicide. Instead of letting this pain become the end of her story, she chose to channel it into something that could help others find strength in their darkest moments.
What began as a simple love for fragrance and candle making soon became a creative outlet to honour her family, reclaim joy, and offer encouragement to anyone walking through a hard chapter.
