Why I created Morro & Co...
a story of hope
It all started from my personal story of grief and loss and become a story of hope and resilience.
On June 17th 2008, I received the news that my mum had taken her own life. That was now the second daughter my nanna had lost to mental health, but unfortunately not the last.
Fast forward to 2020, and now I had lost my own mother and two aunties to mental health and suicide. I was also coming out of a painful infertility journey and was wondering what my next steps would be. To say I was I lost and unenthused about life would be an understatement.
I've always loved candles. I love how a fragrance can instantly change the feel and atmosphere of a room. My love of candles and the symbolism of light makes sense given that my name actually means light. I've grown up loving business and when this idea was born in my heart I didn't let go. I started to learn how to make them in late 2020, and found they brought me great joy. I found a way to express everything I was feeling while also rediscovering my creativity.
That is how this started and why you will never find or experience a candle like a Morro & Co candle. There's something truly special about them.
Honestly, they are more than just a candle, but they are gift to live. A gift to be hopeful and gift to grab today and make it beautiful! They are reminder that all tunnels have a light at the end, and they are way to equip women so that they can live out their purpose with hope and strength.

Claire's own journey has been marked by great loss (two aunties and her mother to suicide) which has driven her to channel her creative energy into a force for positive change.
