Why I launched the Men's Collection

Why I launched the Men's Collection

Two years of sitting with an idea, a lot of fear, and the moment I realised affirmations were never just for women.

For a long time, affirmations felt like they belonged in a very specific space. Pretty journals, feminine packaging, gift bags with tissue paper. And honestly, for a while, I leaned into that. It was comfortable. It was what people expected. It was safe.

But something kept nagging at me.

Because the truth is, I didn't start Morro & Co for a demographic. I started it because I believe every single person, regardless of who they are or how they show up in the world, deserves to be reminded that they are valued, that they are strong enough, and that their life has meaning. Every person. Not just women. Not just people who already believe good things about themselves.

Everyone.

Where the idea began

The Men's Collection had been living quietly in the back of my mind for over two years before I finally did anything about it. Two years of sketching ideas, sitting with fragrance combinations, writing and rewriting affirmations that felt right for the men I know, the men I love, and the men I hope this reaches.

And for most of that time, I let fear talk me out of it.

I worried it wouldn't land. I worried that men wouldn't connect with the idea of affirmations the same way. I worried the timing wasn't right, that the market wasn't ready, that I was reaching too far beyond what Morro & Co was known for. Fear is incredibly convincing when you let it have the floor for too long.

But here's what I kept coming back to: the men in my life needed this just as much as anyone else. Maybe more.

Affirmations are not just for women

We live in a world that doesn't always give men permission to feel things deeply. To admit they're struggling. To say out loud that they need encouragement, that they're tired, that they want to be seen. The expectation to just get on with it, to be strong, to not need anything, runs deep.

And yet, every man I've ever known has moments where he questions his worth. Where he wonders if he's enough. Where he carries something heavy and has nowhere to put it down.

That's exactly the space I wanted to create something for.

Not loud or flashy. Not something that felt out of place on a bathroom shelf or a work desk. Something grounded, intentional, and quietly powerful. Something that said, without making a big deal of it, you are seen, you are strong, and you matter.

What happened when I finally launched

I launched the Men's Collection during one of the biggest weeks of my business life, in the same week I was exhibiting at a conference with over 1,400 people in attendance. I wanted to see how it would be received in real time, with real people standing in front of me.

I was not prepared for what happened.

Men picked up the fragrances and went quiet for a moment reading the affirmations. Women cried buying them for the men they loved. People told me about fathers, brothers, partners, and sons who needed exactly this. The collection resonated in a way I hadn't let myself hope for, because hope felt too risky after two years of fear.

It was one of the most affirming moments of my life as a business owner. And it reminded me that when you create something that truly means something, people feel it. Even when, especially when, it's something the world hasn't quite made room for yet.

Who this collection is for

It's for the man who would never buy himself a candle but deserves one on his desk. It's for the woman who wants to give the man she loves something that says more than words can. It's for the father who needs to be reminded he's doing better than he thinks. The son who's carrying something quietly. The friend who shows up for everyone else and forgets to show up for himself.

It's for anyone who has ever loved a man and wanted to hand him something that simply says, I see you. You're enough. Keep going.

That's why I launched the Men's Collection. And I'm so glad I finally did.
